Large penetration of distributed solar PV requires the development of solutions that integrate solar PV equipment, inverters, energy storage devices , sensors, telecommunication equipment and smart meters. The design of accurate solutions demands a deep technical and economic understanding of the abovementioned components.
Based on technical and economic characteristics of equipment and components, and integration in the distribution network requirements, the integrated solutions will be developed.
iDistributedPV project includes the detailed design of the proposed solution. This a complex activity because the configuration of the solution is required to integrate different technical capacities: manufacturing of key equipment and components, integration approaches of distributed generation based on energy storage devices, power distribution system management and control criteria (reliability and security) and commercial point of view for the acceptance of the solution in different European environments.
In order to identify the most promising solutions, a technical and economic assessment methodology (evaluation criteria, assessment procedures and KPIs) will be carried out.
Additionally, the project team will analyze the exiting barriers to develop the proposed solution in 12 EU countries, to be evaluated in technical and economic terms in the case studies and produce recommendations to overcome them.
